Some of our players had the opportunity to take part in the cricket coaching camp facilitated by cricketers Chris Wheeler and Simon Hammond from Hampshire County Cricket Club. On day 1, the focus was on improving the Batting techniques. We received individual feedbacks on how to improve our batting comprising of the different shots to play, footwork and getting our timing right. Bowling and fielding is an integral part of Cricket and day 2 focused on helping our bowlers get the line length, pace and to ball within the three wicket yard. We also did drills on catching, throwing, fielding, including receiving wicket keeping tips from wicket keeper himself, Chris Wheeler.
Fundraising at Cricket SwiterlandZurich Sapphires CC organized their first fund raising event at the AGM of Cricket Switzerland held on February 18 2017.All the Cricket Switzerland clubs, present at the meeting, were very supportive and encouraging for Women's Cricket and our continued efforts in developing women’s Cricket, through the progress of Sapphires. We would like to thank the individuals who played a key role in making this fund raising a success:
1. Our skipper Jennifer Hallam's mom, Bea Hallam, who is also ZSCC's passive member. The cookies she baked were an instant hit and were sold out in the blink of an eye.
2. The club's young blood, Mansi Patel, for helping in the last minute without any hesitation, in assembling the chocolates.
We were able to raise a commendable amount of 310 CHF in total, which will be used for the club's administration.
Big thank you to Nomdas!!!
